TURNING

Turning is a metal-cutting process for machining solids of revolution. Workpieces can be axles, sleeves and discs or workpieces with a similar shape. Turning is a metal-cutting process by using a single-edged tool. It is carried out through the continuous separation of slivers which have a constant cross section. During turning the workpiece carries out the metal-cutting movement and the tool performs the infeed.
